Churchmice Players 2026 Annual General Meeting:

CMP is looking for people to join our organization beyond the stage. If you’re interested in getting involved, please attend our Annual General Meeting this November!
As a member of our Board of Directors, you can:

Help choose what shows Churchmice produces next by reviewing and approving show proposals and contributing your ideas for future productions.

Bring your ideas and perspective to the table as we brainstorm new opportunities, programs, and ways to grow and improve Churchmice.

Help decide how our resources are spent and support fundraising, sponsorship, and other efforts that keep Churchmice financially strong and thriving.

Work alongside volunteers and committees, help navigate challenges and conflicts, and make decisions that support a healthy, welcoming, and successful organization.
Available Positions on our Board of Directors:

The President is an ex-officio member of all Committees.
They preside at all meetings of the society and of the board. If absent, the Vice-President shall preside at any such meetings.
The President chairs all board meetings and General Meetings, and serves as the primary leader of the organization during their term.

The Vice President serves as the second in command to the president.
If the President is absent, the Vice president is responsible for chairing board meetings and/or attending committee meetings in place of the president.

A. Will ensure that records are maintained as required by the directors of the society.
B. Receives all monies paid to the society and ensures their deposit into the bank or similar institution as designated by the board.
C. Will present a full detailed account of receipts and disbursements to the Board at each meeting.
D. Present the records for audit; present the audited statements at the Annual General Meeting and submit a copy of same to the Secretary for the records of the society.
E. Will perform such other duties as required by the board.
F. The Offices of the Secretary and Treasurer may be filled by one person.

A. Will attend all meetings of the society and the Board and keep accurate minutes of all.
B. In case of the absence of the Secretary, his/her duties will be appointed to a director
by the Board.
C. Will have charge of all the correspondence of the society.

As a working board, CMP board members will serve on a committee within the organization to help ensure work is getting done.
The board meets in-person once a month to discuss progress within committees, attend to general business, and discuss opportunities for growth.
Committees Available to Join:

Churchmice Players Society puts policies and procedures in place to ensure good governance; that the organization conducts itself in a legal and ethical manner and the society’s mission statement is the focus of operations.
The Policy Committee will identify, develop and implement policies and procedures. Policy and procedure documents will be presented to the Board for consideration and approval.

The Asset Management Committee is responsible for the Churchmice Players Society's costumes, sets, props, and rented or donated storage spaces, ensuring these assets are well organized, properly maintained, and fiscally stewarded. Committee members coordinate inventory, cleaning, maintenance, and disposal of property; liaise with production crews to meet the needs of each show; and evaluate the ongoing stability of the Society's storage arrangements, seeking new solutions as needs change.

The Communications and Education Committee promotes the Churchmice Players Society's brand and public presence, manages publicity, website, and social media to maintain a consistent, professional organizational voice, and keeps members informed and connected across the Society. The committee also supports production staff in developing marketing strategies for each show, and seeks out workshops, training, and other educational opportunities to help members build skills in theatre, governance, and related areas. Plans and budgets for educational initiatives are brought to the Board for approval prior to implementation.
This committee will liaise with production crews to ensure shows are adequately promoted.

Chaired by the Treasurer, the Finance and Fundraising Committee is responsible for the financial health and growth of the Churchmice Players Society, with a strong focus on fund development. Committee members identify and pursue grant, fundraising, and sponsorship opportunities appropriate to the Society, and lead initiatives that raise community awareness of its programs, while also maintaining sound financial oversight through budgeting, financial planning, and monitoring of the organization's accounts. Goals and plans for fundraising and sponsorship projects are brought to the committee for discussion before being presented to the Board for approval.
Show producers will liaise with this committee to oversee sponsorship efforts for the organization.
